Join us for an afternoon performance of Vivaldi's 'Gloria' and other beloved choral and instrumental music in celebration of the 175th Anniversary of St. Stephen's Church. The concert will also feature a brand-new piece commissioned by St. Stephen's from acclaimed British composer Paul Mealor, 'How Lovely Is Your Dwelling Place'. Mealor is best known for his piece 'Ubi Caritas', written for the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Mealor was voted 'Britain's Favorite Composer' in 2016 and has worked with choirs and orchestras all over the world.
Also featured in the concert will be festive music from previous centuries, including Parry's 'I was Glad' (written for the coronation of Edward VII and also sung at the coronation of George V) and Handel's 'Zadok the Priest', written for the coronation of George II.
A reception follows this concert and is included in the ticket price.
