Can We See God’s Glory
Ancient stories about dramatic visions of God, often characterized by dazzling brightness, can fire the imagination with awe. But what if you've never personally had such a vision? Can we still appreciate the glory of God, so often referred to in scripture, song and prayer? In this sermon Fr. Garrett gives some examples of God's glory that are likely more relatable in our own time. The presence of God in our world and in our lives is not measured by whether Biblical stories reoccur today in the exact same detail as they appear on the page, but rather by how well we are able to understand the essence of God's character and love for humanity through the ancient stories and recognize the same in our own contemporary context. As Mark Twain famously said, "History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes."
