Last Minute Panic
It feels awful to be caught in a moment of unpreparedness. Helplessness may be the most vulnerable feeling, especially for those who are used to being capable and resourceful. In this sermon Fr. Garrett uses a parable of unprepared wedding attendants (Matthew 25:1-13) to prompt our thinking about how we plan ahead (or not) for those moments in which we need God the most. Cultivating our relationship with God before there is a crisis creates both peace of mind during the ordinary times and prevents that helpless feeling of panic in the moments that matter most.
