The First Forty Days
When we begin a new endeavor It's common to want to make a fast start. There's new energy and optimism and it feels like the time to hit the ground running. In this sermon Fr. Garrett explains how the exact opposite happened following the dramatic beginning that was Jesus' baptism (Mark 1:9-15). It is important to recognize the difference between motion and progress. Sometimes the best thing we can do at the outset of an important time in life is to be still, collect ourselves, and draw deeply from the well of God's wisdom and inspiration before setting off.
