Thank you for offering to record a video of the reading for our Sunday service.

THIS is a wonderful way for us to feel better connected as a parish family during the pandemic, and also a way to re-include members who had moved away from the area - God can indeed bring good out of all situations.

Recording requirements:

  1. Use a smartphone/tablet or a digital camera that can record HD video. iPad, iPhones and Android devices made within the last four years or so will work just fine!

  2. Use the phone/camera in LANDSCAPE mode, i.e. with the phone on its side (see illustration) because all of our broadcast is in that format. Imagine your phone as a TV screen.

  3. Please make sure that lighting is really good. Ideally a lamp shining onto you from off center will enhance the picture quality.

  4. Place your phone/camera on a tripod or other fixed and steady surface. Propping up your phone on a stack of books on a table will work just fine, too.

  5. Start the camera rolling and don’t worry about filming yourself getting settled into position. When you are ready, count down from 3 and begin. At the end, pause before getting up to turn off the camera. We will trim the clip at the start and end so we only have the reading itself.

  6. Read at a normal speed, neither too fast or too slow, and speak clearly so everyone is able to hear on the broadcast.

  7. Please give your video the filename: yourname-reading

  8. When you are done, please upload your video to this link (requires Google/Gmail sign-in).
